Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) headed by Mrs. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR made an inspection visit to Ankur Public School, Sector-14 & Government Model Senior Secondary school (GMSSS)-Dhanas, Chandigarh on 11.04.22. At Ankur Public School, after lockdown to give a welcoming ambiance to students, each corner of the Kindergarten section was litted up as per the guidelines of ‘BALA- Building as Learning Aid’ project with lots of creativity in different mediums. Commission interacted with the nursery children and spent a fun time with them. It was also observed that children are in the best of their health & action and liking the school environment very much. ‘Best out Of Waste’ creations, lots of dead woods converted into beautiful pieces of art becoming an attraction for the children were worth appreciating. 

Experiences of senior students during lockdown were shared and it was noticed that children learned to be familiar with the digital world and be innovative on one hand on the other and relationship bonding in the family added the value of culture and caring instincts.Commission also visited GMSSS-Dhanas and appreciated the children’s corner created by the school authority to welcome the students where a variety of dolls, musical equipment, creative learning aids, shadow puppetry, and the stage are also set up for the day-to-day activities to make the school experience welcoming and play way learning for the new arrivals. CCPCR also appreciated the graduation ceremony event held today for the tiny tots.During the visit, Commission found safety & security measures satisfactory in both the schools. Dr. Monica. M. Singh, Member, CCPCR, Mr. Kartar Singh, Legal Consultant, and Mr. Shekhar, Clerk, CCPCR were also present during this inspection visit.
