Renowned playback singer of Hindi cinema Mohit Chauhan along with his wife Prarthana Gehlot called on Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Raj Bhavan today.Expressing contentment over Mohit Chauhan's association with Himachal, the Governor said that he listens to classical music and was limited to “Kansen” only. He said he has observed that Himachal Pradesh has a lot of music but efforts should be made to provide a platform and promote it in a big way. He said that he was planning to organize a big festival of classical music in Shimla so that this tradition of music could be started here. Apart from this, workshops for playback singing should also be organized.The Governor also honoured him.Mohit Chauhan shared his memories related to Himachal with the Governor. He mentioned the days spent in Dharamsala College and Shimla University. He said that he was ready to extend all possible support for music in Himachal Pradesh.Secretary to Governor Vivek Bhatia was also present on the occasion.
