A senior congress leader and observer Punjab election Arjun Modhwadia accused the BJP-led central government of benefiting their favourite industrialist friends and ignoring the poor section of the society.Modhwadia was addressing the media along with AICC media and communication in-charge of Punjab election, Pawan Khera, at the Punjab Congress Headquarters in Chandigarh.The former president of Gujarat Congress alleged that before BJP, the four India billionaires were lagging behind in Asia and during BJP rule, the rich persons have become double richer but on other hand the poor become poorer.Modhwadia added that the BJP does not allow Congress leaders to raise the voice of poor people in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
Targeting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Modhwadia said that Modi- government has not even helped migrant workers when they were walking back to their native places during Covid-19 lockdown. “Rather than taking care of the migrant population, Modi was busy preparing for US President Donald Trump's visit in Ahmedabad,” he stated while adding that Modi failed to ensure proper availability of vaccine, oxygen and medicines to the poor.Modhwadia added that the congress government in Rajasthan and Punjab had paid the fares for helping migrant workers to reach their home safely via trains.The congress leader said, “Before Charanjit Singh Channi was appointed as Punjab’s chief minister, Punjab was known to be the most corrupt state and now it is Gujarat.”
Modhwadia also criticised the central government for showing stubborn attitude towards the three black farm laws and for repealing the laws after making the innocent farmers struggle for a year during which many farmers have lost their lives.Meanwhile Pawan Khera also lambasted the BJP government and accused them of misusing their powers. He said that whenever the elections are round the corner, the central agencies become active and start targeting the opposition parties.While answering a question regarding Sunil Jakhar, Khera said that Jakhar has thanked senior congress leader Rahul Gandhi for announcing Charanjit Singh Channi as CM face for the party.Khera also said that soon the party will release the manifesto and one will find a glimpse of the Punjab Model of PPCC,President Sardar Navjot Singh Sidhu in the manifesto.
