Union Minister Piyush Goyal today said that the BJP would make Chandigarh, carbon free the first city in the country.Addressing an Intellectuals’ meeting which included BJP national vice president Saudan Singh , here in which representatives of more than 30 organisations, including former bureaucrats and leading business persons took part, Goyal said the BJP government at the Centre had taken many phenomenal decisions that have made India a leader in the world.In Chandigarh, he said, the BJP would perform the same feat. He said Chandigarh’s role in building an eco-system for traditional and new startsups is an example for the rest of the country to follow.
He said Chandigarh would become a role model for the entire country as he urged the intellectuals section of the city to play to constructive and creative role in leading the country.Goyal said the way India led the world in combating Covid was exemplary because India has not only overcome initial shortcomings in terms of PPT kits, supply of liquid oxygen and testing kits, but has become a world leaders in it.He said during Covid times of 19 months more than 80 crore people were given foodgrains security at the cost of Rs 2.75 lakh crores which has set an example in the world.He said India should soon become “neighbour’s envy, owner’s pride”.Senior BJP leaders including Chandigarh BJP president Arun sood, former Chandigasrh BJP president Sanjay Tandon, SP Jain, Arun Sood.
