RCB Banihal has won Shaheed Captain Atul Somra Cricket League 2021-22 organised by the Indian Army here at Banihal from November 1 to November 19, 2021.Captain Atul Somra, belonging to Ambala Cantt, Haryana, had made the supreme sacrifice for the nation by laying his life for the motherland on 18 Jul 2002. This tournament was organized to commemorate his sacrifice and pay homage to the brave soul.The final match of the tournament was played between RCB Banihal and Warrior IX Banihal at Government Higher Secondary School. RCB, Banihal won the match. 

World Champion U-14 Kickboxing, Tajamul Islam, was the Chief Guest on this occasion and various other civil dignitaries were also present at the closing ceremony.The tournament was heartily reciprocated by the local youth with their overwhelming participation. In all 40 teams from different parts of Ramban District participated in the competition and toiled hard for the coveted trophy. The tournament was played on a knock out basis.As a token of appreciation medals and trophies were awarded to the finalists. The local populace thanked the Army wholeheartedly for their initiative to motivate the sporting talent of the area and appreciated the efforts for providing such a platform to the youth of the area.
