DG IMPARD attends National conference at Lucknow

Director General, Jammu and Kashmir, Institute of Management Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPARD), Saurabh Bhagat, represented Jammu and Kashmir in the National conference on “Strengthening the State Institutes of Public Administration” at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.The conference was jointly organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pardesh.UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister of State, Department of Personnel and Trainings and Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, (DoPT & DARPG), Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the event.Saurabh Bhagat made a presentation on Induction Training for fresh recruits of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS) and their Mid-Career Training on the pattern of Indian Administrative Services (IAS) and other central services. He informed that for the first time 30 officers of JK administrative services were sent to LBSNAA for Mid-Term Training.

The conference appreciated the District Good Governance Index (DGGI), being developed by the UT of J&K as a case study, which will be replicated in almost all the districts of India.Eminent dignitaries from prominent Central Training Institutions (CTIs) like NITI Aayog, Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), Capacity Building Commission (CBC), National Informatics Centre (NIC), National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), National Institute for Smart Governance (NISG), Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) and all State Administrative Training Institutions (ATIs) spoke on the subject during the conference.Also, senior officers from Government of India and Uttar Pradesh Government shared their views and experiences in the conference.The highlight of the conference was the decision made to promote JK IMPARD as the Centre of Excellence in Good Governance, Rural Development, Urban Management and Development of Smart Cities, Election Management, Revenue Administration, e-Governance, Certification of Case Studies of Best Practices, RTI and Disaster Management. In this regard, the DARPG, Government of India, promised to provide hand holding support, faculty exchange, development of new training modules, infrastructure support and knowledge support to J&K IMPARD.Dr. Reva Sharma, Director Trainings (J), Dr. M A Khan, Director Trainings Kashmir and Tariq Ahmad Kakroo, Deputy Director Kashmir also attended the conference.
