CCPCR Inspected the GMSSS-45 C & GMS-45, Chandigarh

A team of Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) headed by Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson of the Commission and was accompanied by Ms Ravinder Kaur, Dy. Director –cum- Ex-Officio Member, CCPCR, Mr. Kartar Singh, Legal Consultant, CCPCR, Sh. Chanchal Singh, RTE Consultant, Chandigarh and Sh. Arvind Sr. Assistant CCPCR visited GMSSS-45 C & GMS-45, Chandigarh to inspect the school in view of the safety & security of the children.In GMSSS- 45 C, Chandigarh, Commission inspected the classrooms and showed its satisfaction with the social distancing & masks being used by the children and teachers and upkeep of the school campus and classrooms. The Commission observed that the building of school needs immediate repair at ramp and corridor which is dangerous from the safety point of the students. Municipal Cop ration need to clear the garbage collected outside the school surrounding which is a serious health hazard. Ms. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR interacted with the students of the primary section and students of class 11th and found students happy coming back to school. Commission also interacted with the parents and asked about the issues regarding children's health. 

During the discussion with the principal of the school, Commission observed that more option of subjects in 11th Class should be offered to the students. The Commission also suggested to the Principal to inform the concerned authorities in this regard to do the needful.In GMS-45, Chandigarh, Commission inspected the classrooms and showed its utter dissatisfaction over the cleanliness of the classrooms and campus. The debris were found inside and outside of the classroom. The Commission also found that the school needs proper boundary wall on one side (Back side of primary wing) of the school immediately which is dangerous from the safety point of the students.During the inspection, the school In-charge Mr. Krishan Mohan was not in the school. Commission was told that he is on duty of Booth Level Officer (BPO). Commission observed that due to absence of School In-charge for many days the functioning of the school is adversely affected. It was also found that the attendance of the students in primary section is very thin.The Commission also suggested to the present official of the school to inform the concerned authorities in this regard to do the needful.
