DDC Chairman Budgam reviews progress of developmental works in the district

The Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Budgam, Nazir Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting to review the progress of development in the district.While deliberating upon the progress achieved by PRIs, it was observed that out of 2112 approved works 1593 works have been administratively approved, 1347 works have been put to tenders out of which 420 works have been allotted and 57 works are completed.In PDD, 307 works have been tendered; 86 are under live tendering. Rs. 2.95 Crores have been distributed by the Labour Department till date for student beneficiaries.

Under Jal Shakti department, 107 works have been accorded out of total 117 works and 96 works have been tendered so far.A total of 61000 beneficiaries are registered with the Social Welfare Sector and are getting benefits under various schemes. Hearing Aid and Wheelchairs are being provided to deserving beneficiaries at their door steps, the chairman was apprised.The Chairman applauded the role of Departments and desired that much more focus be given to benefit the poorest of the poor.Among others, the meeting was also attended by DDC and BDC Members, ADDC, ACD, ACP, DSWO, Ex. Engineer PDD, participants from executing agencies and other concerned officers and officials.
