Secretary National Foundation for Communal Harmony, NFCH, Manoj Panth, today visited Kulgam where he chaired a meeting of officers to review implementation of NFCH scheme in the district.The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, SSP, Kulgam, Dr. GV Sandeep, District Social Welfare Officer, Tehsil Social Welfare Officers and scores of beneficiaries.It was informed that financial support is being provided to children who are victims of communal, terrorist violence and related incidents for their education under the scheme. Besides, a total of Rs 16.37 lakh have been disbursed among 312 beneficiaries for their studies and 117 beneficiaries have completed their studies under the programme in the district.Chairman NFCH laid emphasis on ensuring coverage of all militancy hit victim children covering them for financial assistance for education under the ambit of the scheme.Later, he also interacted with the beneficiaries and sought their feedback in proper implementation of the programme.Speaking to media persons, Chairman said that the main aim of his visit to the district is to ensure smooth and proper implementation of the scheme besides taking feedback from the beneficiaries.
