Punjab Public Works and School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla today dedicated the sports park constructed at a cost of Rs. 75 lakh to the residents of village Gharachon. While speaking on the occasion, Vijay Inder Singla said that he was committed to provide modern facilities in the villages of Sangrur constituency and numerous development works were being carried out in the constituency. The Cabinet Minister said that Gharachon’s sports park has been equipped with volleyball and basketball courts, track and separate corner for children apart from other facilities.Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that the waste land of 2 acres at Gharachon village has been used for the construction of the park in such a way that the facilities available here would motivate the villagers to stay fit physically as well as psychologically. He said that developed by PWD, this sports park has been facilitated with ample parking space and two sheds for seating along with other facilities similar parks were being set up in other villages of the constituency.
The Cabinet Minister said that apart from laying interlocking tiles in the streets to provide city-like facilities in the villages, new roads and other basic amenities have also been ensured. He said that the availability of clean drinking water in every village has been ensured through piped water supply and the ponds have been renovated for proper drainage of wastewater. He said that at the same time the infrastructure of schools and health institutions has also been improved which is yielding fruitful results.Prominent among others on the occasion included Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Mr. Ramvir, Additional Deputy Commissioner Development Mr. Rajinder Singh Batra, SDM Bhawanigarh Parmod Singla, XEN Vipin Bansal, DSP Parminder Singh, Harjinder Das Suba Baba, Former President Gurdeep Singh Gharachon, Chairman Zila Parishad Jasveer Kaur, Sarpanch Pappu Roshanwala, Chairman Pardeep Kad, Vice Chairman Hari Singh Faguwala, Chairman Virinder Panwa, Ranjit Singh Toor, Vice Chairman Baljit Kaur, Paramjit Sharma, Representatives of Gharachon Mahila Mandal President Mahinder Kaur, representatives of Panchayat and senior Congress leaders were also present.
