Punjab School Education and Public Works Minister Vijay Inder Singla today paid homage to the farmers who lost their lives in protest against black laws passed by the Modi government by dedicating fadhs and newly built steel sheds to them. The cabinet minister said that financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh and government jobs were also being provided to the families of farmers who lost their lives during the protest. Vijay Inder Singla said that the Congress government led by Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh was always on the forefront to protect the interests of the farmers and counter bills had been passed in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha to make the black laws ineffective in the state. He said that their government stands by the farmers during the tough times and every grain of their produce will be procured in the grain markets without any inconvenience to them.

The cabinet minister said that for the ease of farmers, Arthyaas and laborers, the new grain mandi Sangrur has been renovated at a cost of Rs. 1.33 crore and fadhs and steel shed has been constructed at the purchase centre of village Nadampur at a cost of Rs. 51 lakh. Mr. Singla said that Rs.6.12 lakh has been spent on steel sheds constructed at Nadampur Mandi while the fadh of the mandi has been renovated at a cost of Rs.29.26 lakh.  He said that while the shed would provide shelter to the farmers during the hot sun and monsoons, the renovation of the floor would also alleviate the fear of crop damage during the monsoons.  He said that Rs.10.84 lakh has been spent for the repair of internal roads and Rs.4.92 lakh has been provided for the parking.On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Ramvir, Additional Deputy Commissioner (development) Rajinder Singh Batra, SDM Bhawanigarh Parmod Singla, Chairman Market Committee Sangrur Anil Kumar Ghicha, Chairman Market Committee Bhawanigarh Pardeep Kad, Vice Chairman Hari Singh, XEN Mandi Board Parminder Singh, Chairman Improvement Trust Naresh Gaba, Ranjit Singh Toor, Faqir Chand Singla were present.
