The governing body meeting of Governing Board of HP Zoos and Conservation Breeding Society (HPZCBS) was held here today under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary (Forests) Nisha Singh.Appreciating the efforts of the offices and the officials of the wildlife wing of the state forest department, Nisha Singh exhorted to further provide public amenities like theatres, introduction of audio- video aids and better souvenir shop in all the zoos of the state. She also emphasized in co-relating these activities with the eco-tourism to promote nature based tourism and to attract more visitors in the Zoos.Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Archana Sharma apprised the a 3-D theatre in Kufri zoo was near completion and would be made operational very soon.Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests-cum-CEO HPZCBS Anil Thakur gave a detailed presentation on various activities being carried out under HPZCBS in various Zoos, pheasantries and monkey sterilization centers in the State. He also presented the action taken report of the previous meeting of HPZCBS. The Governing Board  approved the APOs for the financial year 2021-22.The Board also decided to strengthen the Zoos by providing additional staff for smooth working of the zoos and pheasantries.Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Dr. Savita and DFOs of Wild Life Wing of the forest department were present in the meeting.
