Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the implementation of District Road Safety Action Plan (DRSAP) 2021-22. The meeting held threadbare discussion regarding various measures for implementation of District Road Safety Action Plan including identification and rectification of black spots, displaying of speed limits on black spots and installation of Solar lights on black spots by PMGSY, R&B and Beacon organisation. 

It was given out in the meeting that traffic police personals will be deployed on daily basis on black spots for reducing the accidents. It was also given out that removal of hoardings, encroachments from footpaths and roads will be done by Municipal Committees, besides, they shall establish, install, monitor and maintain traffic signals at all crossings to ensure safe driving. Upgradation of Trauma care facilities at Govt.Health Centres for taking care of accident victims was also discussed in the meeting. 

The ADC stressed upon the officers to work with utmost dedication and coordination in making the roads of the district safe. He further directed the concerned officers for submission of District Road Safety Action Plan 2021-22. The ADC directed the ARTO to conduct awareness programmes among drivers for smooth and safe driving and penalize use of mobile phones by drivers. Executive Engineers of R&B Kupwara and Handwara division; Executive Engineer PMGSY Kupwara; ARTO Kupwara, OC Beacon, BMO Kupwara and other concerned attended the meeting.
