DDC Chairperson inaugurates commercial activities at Batote Fruit & Vegetable Mandi

Chairperson, District Development Council, Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan today inaugurated commercial activities in Batote Fruit and Vegetable Mandi, in the presence of BDC, Chairperson, Batote   Rajeshvar Bhagat, President, Municipal Committee, Batote, Ravinder Singh and DDC Member, Jagvir Dass. Tehsildar, Batote, Mehbub Khan, Executive Engineer of PDD, Nisar Hussain, Executive Engineer, PMGSY, Kamal Kishore Gupta, AMO, Sunil Bakshi, PRIs, President, F&V Mandi Association, Jagdesh Chand, Several farmers, orchardists and traders  besides prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.After the inaugural ceremony, which was organized by the Fruit and Vegetable, Farmers and Traders Association of Batote Mandi, the  Chairperson impressed upon the farmers to avail the benefits of this Mandi by selling their vegetables and fruit produce in an organized way.She also appreciated the Horticulture Planning and Marketing Corporation for developing the maiden  Mandi facility for farmers in the district.    It is centrally located in the area which is a major producer of vegetables and fruits also, she added. She also directed the local administration to ensure that all farmers and orchardists bring their farm produce to this Mandi. She also asked the shopkeepers and local traders of the area to buy fruits and vegetables from this Mandi to make it successful.Responding to the issues highlighted by the locals, the Chairperson  assured that the issue would be taken up with concerned authorities regarding the allotment of shops to the registered allottees of Mandi for their convenience in trading.  Later, she also listened to the grievances of PRIs and locals and directed the officers present there to solve all genuine issues on priority basis.
