Punjab School Education and Public Works Minister Vijay Inder Singla said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, has continuously been taking necessary steps to check the spread of coronavirus. The Cabinet Minister also held a meeting with administrative officials to review the arrangements made by the district administration under Mission Fateh.Appealing to people of Sangrur, Vijay Inder Singla said, “We need to understand that coronavirus is a very dangerous virus which spreads rapidly. In order to prevent this, it is very important to follow the precautions and get vaccinated.”Mr. Singla said that the Congress government has been running more than 150 vaccination centers in the district which were in every government health institution like hospitals, dispensaries and wellness centers. He said that this vaccine is completely safe and the Chief Minister and he himself had taken the dose. He added that the people of Sangrur should also get vaccinated apart from following other safety precaution to stay safe. He directed the officials of the health department to ensure the delivery of ‘Corona Fateh Kit’ to the person who reported positive.  He said that as per the latest allotment, as many as 7,000 vaccines were received out of which 4,800 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the last two days.

The Cabinet Minister said that the capacity of Level-2 beds in Sangrur district has been increased to 200 and to increase it further he directed the officials to contact the private hospitals and motivate them to cooperate in these arrangements apart from other developments. He said that health facilities in every subdivision including Vaccination Centers, Level-2 Covid Care Centers and required oxygen cylinders will be ensured by the Congress government. He said that the Chief Minister himself has been monitoring the supply of oxygen and Sangrur has also been getting full supply under the fixed quota. He directed the administrative officials to get marked empty or filled cylinders of oxygen available in any of the industries which have been closed as per the instructions of the government to deal with the emergency situation.Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ramvir also appealed to the people to get themselve tested as soon as possible in case of fever or any other symptoms of Covid. Mr. Ramvir said that regular efforts were being made to ensure 100 per cent sampling in the containment and micro-containment zones apart from following other instructions of the government.On this occasion, SSP. Vivek Sheel Soni, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mr. Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman Improvement Trust Mr. Naresh Gaba, Vice Chairman Mr. Mahesh Kumar Meshi, SDM Sangrur Yashpal Sharma, Civil Surgeon Dr. Anjana Gupta among several other dignitaries were also present.
