Continuing its spree against adulteration, the health team led by the District Health Officer Dr. Lakhvir Singh today collected 11 samples of food items/products from three different places in the city area.Giving information in this regard, Dr. Lakhvir Singh said that under Punjab Government’s ambitious Mission ‘Tandrust Punjab’ program the drive against adulteration and unsafe food products would be continue and also intensify in coming days. He said that the team on Thursday taken samples  from Soya Caffe, Sharma Dairy and MORE outlet of different products including gravies, boiled noodles, milk, cream, sabudana, loose flour, rajmaah, loose rice, besan, moongdal etc, which are being sent to Food Testing Lab, Kharar for further examination.Emphasising the need to choose healthy food products, the District Health Officer said that in current health crisis all of us should remain extra vigilant about the food products being consumed. Out of some samples collected in recent past one sample of cream was found unsafe, said Dr. Lakhvir adding that the purpose of sampling was to encourage people towards healthy food besides educating the owners of food outlets and manufacturers to lay more focus on hygiene and purity in larger public interests.Food Safety Officer Raman Virdi, Hardeep Singh and Ram Lubhaya were also accompanied the DHO during sampling.
