Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa at the headoffice of Milkfed.The product was launched in different packings of 200 Gms, 500 Gms, 1 Kg and 7.5 Kg bucket amid presence of Financial Commissioner Cooperation K. Siva Prasad, Registrar Cooperative Societies & Administrator Milkfed Punjab Vikas Garg and MD Milkfed Kamaldeep Singh Sangha.Speaking on the occasion, S. Randhawa said that Verka Dairy Whitener is also highly pocket friendly to consumers in terms of pricing when compared to other brands such as Nestle and Amul. Lauding Milkfed, the minister further said that at the time of COVID-19 pandemic, when the whole country was reeling under economic slowdown in the Industry and Service sector, Milkfed Punjab, has procured 25% more milk than the milk quantity it had procured in the financial year 2019-20. The action has eased out cash liquidity at producer’s end and helped in sustaining the rural economy, said S. Randhawa adding Milkfed even during this pandemic period is growing by leaps and bounds whichis evident from the development and expansion projects worth Rs. 254 crores under progress at Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Mohali and Patiala Dairies. Apart from this, Punjab Government and NABARD assisted Mega Dairy Project at Bassi Pathana with total outlay of Rs. 138 Crores is likely to be completed by of June, 2021.On the occasion, MD Milkfed Punjab Kamaldeep Singh Sangha informed that for boosting the immunity of people, Verka had earlier launched the popular Haldi Dudh and the popular PIO brand has been launched in new convenient PP (polypropylene) bottle. Also, Verka recently launched Natural Fruit Ice-cream in Strawberry, Pink Guava, Litchi thus affording a variety of choices to the consumers.Notably, Verka Dairy Whitener is produced from wholesome milk of Punjab with state of art machinery established at Verka Jalandhar Dairy.
