Moga Police Trace Blind Murder Of Old Lady

Moga police have solved the case of blind murder of a woman and arrested the accused. A case has been registered against the accused and further action is being taken.Mr Harmanbir Singh Gill Senior Superintendent of Police said that on 16 March 2021 an old lady aged 75 years namely Sushil kumari D/O Late Bachan Ram was found murdered at her residence in New Sodhi Nagar on Zira Road Moga. She was strangulated to death by an unidentified person by using the white dupatta she was wearing at that time. Subsequently FIR No 34 dated 16-3-2021 u/s 302 IPC PS City Moga was registered on the statement of the deceased's brother Shubhkaran Singh alias Dukki.He said that during an investigation of the case it was found that above said the murder was committed by Gurjant Singh alias Janta S/O Kulwant Singh, who is a painter by profession and he also lives in the same street in which the deceased was living along with her 2 unmarried brothers. 

During interrogation accused has confessed that he had murdered with an intention of theft as he knew that Sushil Kumari was nowadays alone at her house as her 2 brothers had gone to visit their relatives and he also knew that Sushil Kumari was a retired nurse who always kept a good amount of money at her home as he used to borrow money from her time to time. So he entered her house at about 5 am in morning on 15 March 2021 by scaling the front wall of her residence and then hide in a bathroom. He planned to steal the money once Sushil kumari leaves her house but she saw him and thereafter when she tried to raise an alarm he strangulated her with her dupatta only and later fled from the scene after stealing her mobile phone and about 500 rs.He said that the accused also revealed that he planned to come back again at night to take all the valuable items from the deceased house as he knew that nobody visits her house and also that her brothers are away. Further ing investigation, it was also found that the accused also made a video of a lady after committing her murder to show it to her girlfriend so that he can pressurize her to live with him and the said video was also recovered from his mobile phone. The stolen mobile phone and money were also recovered. Further investigation into the case is going on.
