The Commissioner of Police (CP) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today ordered officials to launch a massive crackdown on criminals and proclaim offenders in their respective jurisdiction besides making it clear to them that they would be held accountable for any sort of crime in their area.The directives were issued by the Commissioner of Police in a crime review meeting held at Police Lines with all Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCPs), Additional Deputy Commissioners of Police (ADCPs), Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), and Station House Officers (SHOs) of the Commissionerate police.Mr. Bhullar asked the officials to arrest the proclaim offenders and initiate procedure to attach their properties at the earliest while reiterating that any kind of laxity in this duty would be highly unwarranted. He further directed the officials to solve all untraced cases falling within their jurisdiction in a time-bound manner and complete investigation of under-investigation cases. He asked officials to finish investigation in pending cases and submit charge sheets in the courts so that timely justice could be ensured to victims.The CP further said that the stringent actions to be launched against the gangsters and drug paddlers to tight a noose around their anti-social activities to ensure peace and prosperity in the society.

Mr Bhullar issued clear-cut instructions to all the police officers to ensure that their respective areas must be crime-free and asked them to increase vigil in the field round the clock.  He told all officers to carry out systematic and in-depth field visits into their jurisdictions.The Commissioner of Police said that every police officer must-have information on their tips regarding whereabouts of criminals whether they are in jail, on parole or bail. He also ordered the officers to take all possible steps to check the activities of the criminals/habitual offenders effectively and pursue strict legal action against them.Reiterating the firm commitment of the state government and Director General of Police Mr Dinkar Gupta to rein in the criminals from the state, he warned the officers against any complacency on the issue.The commissioner of police told the officers in unequivocal terms that every police officer at various levels will be held accountable for any activity of crime activity in their respective areas. He said that all GO’s rank officers will give him report daily in the evening regarding the action against the criminals and told they must make concentrated field visits regularly in their respective areas to build the trust with the people in this drive.On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCPs) Gurmeet Singh, Arun Saini, Naresh Kumar Dogra, ACP Vimalkant, and others were present.
