Punjab Helath Minister, Balbir Singh Sidhu while kickstarting upgradation work of Community Health Center Ghanaur in Patiala district, today, said that the existing capacity of 30 beds of the hospital would be enhanced to 50 after completion of renovation and upgradation work worth Rs 10 crore. He said that for providing child and mother health care to the remote areas of this belt of Patiala, a 'Mai Daultan Mother and Child Care Hospital' would also be come up here shortly.Elaborating the initiatives of state in the health sector, he said that as per the directions of Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh, all the district Hospitals of state including some of the Sub Divisional and Community Health Centers catering large numbe of rural population, would have MRI and CT Scan facility at very low cost (42 to 48 percent less) soon, that would further strengthen government infrastructure under Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna (AB-SSBY). He said that state has recruited large number of doctors, Nurses and Paramedics to strengthen the health sector in Punjab.Applauding the services rendered by the doctors and health care workers during the ongoing CORONA pandemic, he said that their work in the service of humanity is exemplary and they have shown utmost dedication to save the human mankind from the clutches of this deadly virus.

On being asked upon by the media about the possibility of second wave of COVID, Health Minister Mr. Sidhu made it clear that recent samples from Punjab have not been showing different behaviour of virus. It's almost same to the previously appeared symptoms. He said that State Health Department is capable of caring the COVID patients besides tackling the pandemic and authorities in field have been asked to conduct sampling in full capacity.Expressing gratitude to the Health Minister, MLA Ghanaur constituency, Madan Lal Jalalpur said that with the starting of the expansion and renovation project of CHC Ghanaur, a long pending demnad of the area is going to be fulfill. He thanked Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu for announcing the setting up of Mother and Chilf Care Hospital at Ghanaur in the name of Mai Daultan.Expressing special thanks to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh for transforming  Ghanaur a developed constituency from under-developed, he said that state has provided special funds for canal based surface drinking supply project, New ITI and development of villages.
