The Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya has asked the regulating agencies to conduct regular checking and lift samples to plug supply of spurious fertilizers and pesticides in the district, at a meeting convened here today.DC directed the concerned officers to keep a close liaison for taking collaborated steps to check the menace of spurious trade in order to safeguard the interest of farming community.Enforcement Officer have been directed to gear up their field functionaries and constitute monitoring teams during the peak season so that the menace of spurious pesticides is curbed.DC said that the department has formulated a road map for ensuring timely availability and monitoring of quality Pesticides/ Insecticides/ Fungicides/ Weedicides to the farmers/ orchardists in the district during the year 2021.Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Enforcement officer, Presidents of Fruit Growers Association and Pesticides Association Shopian besides other concerned officers and officials attended the meeting.
