Handicrafts department organises awareness camp for Artisans at Qazigund

The Handicrafts Department, Anantnag today organised a one day awareness camp at Qazigund, here to aware the participants regarding various welfare schemes and programmes of the department.The camp was inaugurated by AD Handicrafts/Handlooms Anantnag, Abhimanyu Singh.While addressing the artisans, the AD said that the camps are being organised to aware the artisans about various handicraft activities and the schemes associated with them. He also emphasised on the need to preserve the heritage crafts of J&K and elaborated the steps being taken by the department in this regard.He directed the concerned officers to ensure that the welfare schemes percolate down to the target groups and urged the entrepreneurs and societies to avail the benefits of the departmental schemes.The camp was also addressed by   experts of handicrafts including HTOs, KVIB officers who apprised the participants and artisans about latest techniques and welfare programmes being implemented for the welfare of the artisan community.On the occasion, the artisans were felicitated with certificates and were assured of full support for betterment and upliftment of their crafts.The camp was attended by a large number of artisans, trainees, society holders besides officers of Handicrafts, Handloom, KVIB and Industry and Commerce departments.
