Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today reviewed the achievements under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Poshan Abhyan schemes in the district, here at a meeting of District Level Task Force.The meeting was attended by  Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal; Programme Officer ICDS,  Shahida Parveen; Assistant Commissioner Development, Zameer Ahmed; Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mohammad  Fareed Bhat and other members of DLTF  and other concerned officers.At the outset, the DC sought coordinated efforts by all members   to achieve the desired objective of protection and empowerment of women as well as girl-child. He advised PO ICDS and CEO to organize a symposium on “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” to sensitize girls about the benefits of various women welfare schemes, besides their social and legal empowerment. The DC directed the Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti to provide drinking water facility to all uncovered Anganwari Centres. 

PO, ICDS was directed to immediately transfer the allocated funds to the concerned departments to ensure effective implementation of the action plan. She was also asked to install hoarding and signboards on all prominent places to promote the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao  scheme. Regarding the construction of  Anganwari centres, the DC advised ACD and PO ICDS  to coordinate  implementation of convergence plan as per the guidelines and extant rules. Earlier, the PO ICDS informed that a total of 800 Anganwari centres are functional across the district out of which only 22 are housed in government accommodation. She also gave a detailed presentation of the activities carried out by different departments in the district under BBBP scheme.The DC called upon all the members to speed up their activities in a planned way to achieve 100% targets within scheduled time frame. He directed the health department to organise awareness programmes on PC&PNDT Act in rural areas by involving PRI members.
