Rationing of petroleum products inspected at Ganderbal

A team of enforcement wing of FCS&CA led by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Farooq Ahmad Baba today conducted an inspection of various Petrol pumps, Gas agencies and several medical stores operating within the district.During inspection, the ADC reviewed the compliance of instructions issued by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir regarding the rationing of petroleum products including diesel, petrol and LPG as ordered after the closure of National Highway.The inspection was also aimed to curb illegal activities such as short dispensing of petrol and diesel. The ADC directed the petrol pump owners and Gas agencies to ensure strict adherence of the directions issued regarding the rationing of petroleum products.Meanwhile, a fine of Rs 2000 was imposed on the erring petrol pump operators with the assurance from the defaulters that the offences will not be repeated in future, failing which their cases will be sent to the court of law for stringent action.The ADC has also warned the unscrupulous traders to desist from using unfair trade practices to cheat the innocent consumers and also appealed to the consumers to remain vigilant while purchasing the commodities.
