DC monitors snow clearance operations at Anantnag

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, KK Sidha today visited various areas of Anantnag town to personally monitor the snow clearance operations.He visited the control room of the Mechanical Engineering Department and directed the concerned engineers to ensure clearance of snow from their allotted road length forthwith.The DC also directed Health officers to admit pregnant ladies whose Expected Delivery Date (EDD) falls within next five days, critical care and Dialysis patients, etc in the nearest health institutions to avoid medical exigencies owing to road blockade due to heavy snowfall.The DC informed that 64 pregnant ladies have already been shifted to the health institutions and the elected DDC members, BDC’s and other PRI members were advised to help the health authorities in this regard. Meanwhile, DC also interacted with stranded tourists of Amritsar Pubjab who have been provided accommodation and other facilities at Dak Banglow Khanabal. He also assured them of possible assistance from the district administration to ensure their safe return.
