DDC Kishtwar reviews performance of Banks at DLRC meet

District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today reviewed Credit- Debit ratio of banks here at District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting.The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal; Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch; LDM, Nasir Butt; Chief Horticulture Officer, Mushtaq Ahmed Wani, Chief Animal Husbandry officer, Syed Altaf Ali; District Manager KVIB, Nasir Ahmed besides the representatives of the various Banks.At the outset, the LDM informed that banks recorded Rs 1832.17 crore deposits and Rs 672.14 crore advances, while the CD Ratio records an increase of  3.79% and stands at 37.60 %.The DDC directed the bankers to redouble their efforts and initiate concrete steps for lending towards priority sectors and to achieve set targets of the Annual Credit Plan, besides improving the CD ratio from 37.60 % to national target of 60%.He further directed the bankers to ensure 100% coverage of eligible farmers under KCC whereas Chief agriculture officer and other District Heads of allied departments were directed to organise awareness camps to sensitize the farmers about benefits of government schemes.

Threadbare discussions were held on the centrally sponsored schemes under which loans are provided to the beneficiaries for setting up income generating units.The DDC further exhorted upon all the banks to take effective measures for sanctioning and disbursing loans to different sectors especially in Agriculture, Education, Housing and employment sector so that majority of the population would be facilitated under various schemes besides providing KCC to the farmers.Other agri allied activities like bee- keeping, mushroom cultivation,  poultry, dairy , livestock rearing, food & Agro processing etc. should be given priority, DDC further added.The DDC asked for meeting the targets of  Entrepreneurship Scheme under B2V3 Program which provides for covering at least 2 educated unemployed youth under self-employment schemes.In this context ACD, AD Employment and LDM were directed to file weekly progress report.The heads of all the banks were asked to hold awareness camps in the district in order to sensitise and aware the youths about the various financial schemes meant for them.
