COVID-19 : Awareness cum Sensitisation programme held at Baramulla

With an aim to create awareness and to get feedback from different stakeholders about COVID-19, District Administration Baramulla in collaboration with an NGO Human Aid Society today organised day long awareness cum sensitisation programme here. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo presided over the programme whereas SDM Gulmarg, district and sectoral officers among other concerned functionaries were present in the programme. The DC in his address underlined the role of different stakeholders to combat the challenge. He urged upon all to strictly follow all the requisite SOPs and guidelines for averting further exigencies.Itoo said that the challenge of COVID-19 has not faded away and there is a need to adopt preventive measures in letter and spirit. He deliberated for using face masks and maintain social distancing especially at public places so as to mitigate the risk of infection.On the occasion, various speakers threw light on various aspects and necessary measures that needs to be followed to control the further spread of COVID-19. They also presented their valuable suggestions and feedbacks in this regard.Meanwhile among others, various religious and community leaders, civil society members, medical officers besides other concerned prominent citizens participated in the programme.
