Interactive program on ‘Business Opportunities in Agriculture’ held at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi

To bring about transformational changes in the agriculture sector by making farmers change their outlook towards farming, the Director Agriculture Kashmir Altaf Aijaz Andrabi today said that farmers need to consider their farms as their businesses.He said this while delivering a lecture to unemployed educated youth of Kuchwa Muqam district Baramulla during an interactive program on “Business Opportunities in Agriculture” held here.On the occasion, the director said that entrepreneurship must be encouraged in agriculture and innovation will help farmers to improve crop productivity thus generating more profit, besides it will create more and more employment avenues for rural youth as well.Andrabi impressed upon the youth to create FPO’s and get benefited from different farmer welfare schemes that have been devised for the welfare of the farming community.He asked them to create the brand of agriculture produced at local level and showcase the product at different platforms to get maximum rewards.Among others, Joint Director Agriculture Inputs Amir –Ud- Din Andrabi, Project Coordinator Mushroom, Deputy Director Agriculture Central were also present during the session.
