ADC meets affected families in landslide hit Gandtop area

To assess the situation arisen due to incessant rains and landslides, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Nagendra Singh Jamwal, today conducted an extensive tour of landslide hit area of Gandtop, Sub-Division Basantgarh District Udhampur to oversee the relief and rehabilitation measures.At least ten families were affected after a landslide hit the hilly area of Gandtop Sub-Division Basantgarh, last week.During the tour, the ADC interacted with the affected families of the area and ensured them that District Administration will extend every possible help to the affected families.The Officers of RDD, FCS & CA, PHE, PDD and other line departments were also accompanying the ADC.

The ADC asked the concerned officers to gear up the pace of relief in the area to mitigate the suffering of affected families.SDM & Tehsildar were asked to identify state land for rehabilitation of affected families. The ADC processed relief files on the spot and assured  that relief will be disbursed immediately in their accounts. The ADC also held a public grievances redressal camp and directed the concerned departments to redress the genuine demands of the area on priority.He assured every possible help from the District Administration to enable the affected people to overcome difficult situations.PHE and PDD functionaries were directed to immediately restore the water supply and power supply to the affected areas, while PWD was instructed to take up immediate repair of the  Ramnagar Basantgarh road and make it traffic worthy for the  heavy vehicles.Among others present were BDC Chairman, Kewal Parihar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Basantgarh, Vivek Modi,  Tehsildar, Yaser Ahmed, BDO, Manik Rathore, Naib Tehsildar, TSO and other officers/officials of concerned departments.
