Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth about Rs. 73.10 crore in Gagret Vidhan Sabha area of Una district through video conferencing from Shimla today.Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated Rs. 1.67 crore 73 meter span bridge over Nakroh khad on Sunkali to Gokal Nagar link road constructed under PMGSY, Rs. 1.17 crore 30 meter span vented causeway bridge on Banne Di Hatti to Shivpur lower Mubarikpur road constructed under NABARD, Rs. 74 lakh Science Lab building at Government Senior Secondary School Mubarikpur and Rs. 49 lakh additional building for Community Health Centre Gagret.Chief Minister laid foundation stones of Rs. 26.81 crore piped water supply scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission for left out households of Garget Block, Rs.12.07 crore Shiv Bari to Dhawali road to be constructed under PMGSY, Rs. 10.62 crore Brahampur to Bhaderkali Jallow di Bar Chintpurni road to be built under PMGSY, Rs. 8.66 crore ITI building Gagret at Bhaderkali, Rs. 6.52 crore four bridges over Mawa Sindhiyan, Saghnai, Ghanari and Amboa khad on Gagret Una road to be constructed NABARD, Rs. 2.38 crore Tehsil building at Ghanari and Rs. 1.97 crore additional accommodation at Government Degree College Daulatpur.Chief Minister said that the Covid-19 has taken the whole world in surprise and has adversely affected the world economy. He said that the State Government was ensuring that the pace of development does not get affected due to this virus and thus have started inauguration and laying foundation stones of developmental projects in different parts of the State. He said that the Centre Government has provided all possible assistance to the State Government to fight this pandemic. He said that the Centre Government has provided 1.60 lakh PPE kits, over three lakh N95 masks and 500 ventilators to the State to tackle this virus. Jai Ram Thakur said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has successfully led the nation to fight this pandemic. 

He said that whole nation also stood rock solid behind the Prime Minister in this testing time. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always been considerate towards developmental needs of the State. He also thanked the Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur for effectively taking up the matters pertaining to the State at the Centre level. Chief Minister directed the officers to ensure time bound completion of the projects being executed in the area as this would not only provide better facilities to the people of the area, but also check price escalation. He said that all the projects, foundation stones of which were laid by him today would be completed within the stipulated time period. He assured the people of the area that the pace of development would go uninterrupted and would further be accelerated in times to come. Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur, while addressing the people virtually from New Delhi, said that the double engine governments of the Centre and State has ensured alround and fast development of the State. He said that efforts would be made to strengthen railway network in the State. He said that people of the Gagret also played a crucial role in helping the people of the area during the lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic. He said that Rs. 15,000 crore had been allocated by the Centre Government separately to fight this pandemic in the country and expressed hope that the country would soon come out from this crisis.  MLA Gagret Rajesh Thakur while welcoming the Chief Minister thanked him for dedicating developmental projects worth crores of rupees. He said that the Water Supply Scheme for Gagret Block would provide better drinking water facilities to about 48 villages and 173 habitations of the area. He also detailed various developmental demands of the area.Member BJP State Working Committee Ram Murti Sharma welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries. He also thanked the Chief Minister for initiating several welfare and developmental schemes in the State. Gagret Mandal BJP President Satpal presented vote of thanks.Deputy Commissioner Una Sandeep Kumar, Superintendent of Police Arjit Sen Thakur were present on the occasion.
