Taking up the development issues of the district with the local administration, Balbir Singh Sidhu, Health & Family Welfare and Labour Welfare Minister Punjab and the local MLA  from the district asserted that no stone would be left unturned for holistic Development of Mohali. He said that as the representative of the people he would ensure that every  possible development related issue be resolved. Presiding over a meeting with the district officials at District Administrative Complex, the Minister categorically stated that no laxity  in work would be tolerated and directed the officials to resolve the issues in a time bound manner.He was informed that GMADA has allotted land free of cost for setting up of  Working Women’s Hostel in sector 79 and is exploring the shifting of marble shops situated near Landra Chowk to some other suitable place. Floating a special need based policy  in the City to resolve the issues pertaining MIG/LIG flats and to resolve the land issue with respect to establishment of slaughterhouse is also being looked into.The Minister  suggested tolook into the possibility of widening of specific roads to at least eighteen feet so as to increase the possibility of establishing small industrial units at village level. He  also proposed to make use of forest land lying at village Girdderpura in tehsil Kharar for establishing dairies by allotting specific area to the milkman. GMADA was also asked to  take over big parks of the City and construct sprinting tracks in all major parks.

He directed GMADA to look into TDI City, Akal Aashram and Green Enclave sewerage problem and resolve the water logging issue of village Bakarpur, Mauli, Chilla and  Lakhnour.Municipal Corporation was directed to construct sun-shades in the shops in Palika bazar market, phase11 Mohali. Administration was asked to install Community toilet  sets near the cremation ground Mohali to resolve the problem of open defecation near the cremation ground. Besides, DDPO was directed to moot the proposal for constitution of  BDPO office in Mohali itself.Taking up the issue of covering ‘J’ form holder farmers under ‘Ayushmann Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna’, Balbir Singh Sidhu vociferously asserted  that all J-form holder farmers of the district should be covered under the scheme. He said that it has been observed that farmers from Mohali living in the areas adjoining to  Chandigarh like Machlikalan and other villages have sold their produce in grain market of the U.T. They have the said form issued by Chandigarh Administration so they are  facing difficulty in availing the benefit of the insurance cover offered in the scheme. He asked the administration to take Adhaar card or Jamabandi as proof of their being Mohali  residents and ensure that they successfully derive the benefit duly accrued to them. Mr. Harkeshchand Sharma, Chairmn Marktee Committee Kharar, officers from all the  prominent departments of the Administration, Aashika Jain Additional Commissioner(General), Kamal Kumar , Municipal Commissioner and Rakesh Dhiman (from GMADA) were  present on the occasion.
