With the commitment to provide state of the art medical facilities at doorsteps to people, Punjab Health & Family Welfare Minister Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu today laid foundation stones of Primary Health Centre at Jhoraran in District Ludhiana and  Mai Daultan Maternal and Child Healthcare (MCH) Hospital at Tapa in District Barnala.Disclosing this here today in a press communiqué, the Health Minister said that Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government is committed to strengthen and ramp up Health infrastructure in the State in the perilous times of COVID-19 Pandemic. He said that the Punjab Government is vigorously working to fulfill 4,000 vacancies in the Health Department and the recruitment process would soon be commenced. He said that earlier today, he laid the foundation stone of Primary Health Center, at Jhoraran in District Ludhiana which is being set up in the memory of Martyr Havildar Ishar Singh of Saragarhi War. After that, he laid the foundation stone of Mai Daulta Mother & Child healthcare hospital at Tapa in District Barnala.Mr. Sidhu further said that various initiatives is being taken to control the spread of COVID-19, State and district level teams of the health department is working round the clock to provide qualitative treatment facilities to the patients and health & police personnel were also affected by the corona virus while performing their duty diligently. He said that Punjab is doing well compared to neighboring States but it’s time to strictly follow the guidelines of the State Government such as wearing masks, social distancing and hand hygiene to combat COVID-19 and save lives.To ensure tertiary health care services to the people of the state, the Cabinet Minister said that the State Government also directed the all Private Hospitals/Nursing Home/Clinics for tertiary care (HDU & ICU) under the Epidemic Disease Act 1897 (COVID-19 Regulation 2020), referred by the Health Department.
