Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur participated in ‘Puranahuti’ after 55 lakh ‘Gayatri Mantra Jaap’ organized by State BJP Mahila Morcha here today for World peace and prosperity of the State.Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister lauded the efforts of the State BJP Mahila Morcha for organising such an event in a befitting manner. He said that India was a land of saints and sages and the whole world has acknowledged the scientific basis of Indian traditions and rituals.  He said that the corona pandemic has caught world by surprise and India was not an exception. He said the able and farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has helped in checking this pandemic to a large extent but still greater precautions needed to be taken.Jai Ram Thakur said that the 15 most developed countries of the world with population of about 142 crore have reported total deaths of over 5.76 lakh, whereas India has a total population of 135 crore and over 24000 deaths have been reported. He said that coronavirus was contained due to the timely decision of lockdown taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Chief Minister said that the coronavirus has not only adversely affected the world economy, but also forced the policy makers to think differently. 

He said that during this pandemic the rural economy has almost single-handedly sustained our economy. He said that people from all over the world and country have come back to their native lands.Jai Ram Thakur said that the State BJP Mahila Morcha has played a major role during this testing time. He said that BJP Mahila Morcha have not only prepared  and distributed 50 lakh masks but have played a  crucial role in sensitizing the people about use of face mask and social distancing as well.Chief Minister also launched ‘Ek Vriksh Ki Panch Sakhiyan’ by planting a sapling on the occasion.Head of Gayatri Parivar V.K. Bhatnagar welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries.President BJP Mahila Morcha Himachal Pradesh Rashmi Dhar Sood presented vote of thanks and detailed various activities of the Morcha. She said that 24 ‘Havan Kunds’ have been were prepared to perform this yajna.Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Urban Development Minister Sarveen Chaudhary, Organizing Secretary Pawan Rana, General Secretary State BJP and Political Advisor to CM Trilok Jamwal, General Secretary BJP Mahila Morcha Vandna Guleria and Sheetal Vyas Sharma and other office bearers of the Morcha were also present on the occasion among others.
