“Kissan Pakhwada” takes off in Ramban

District administration, Ramban today launched “Kisan Pakhwada” fortnight programme to spread awareness about the farmers’ welfare schemes being implemented by   different departments.The Agriculture and all allied departments - Horticulture, Sheep, Animal and Fisheries, besides Banks and NABARD would highlighted their schemes, besides carry out on the spot registration of farmers under KCC and other schemes during the fortnight programme.The programme was presided over by the Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Ramban R.K Hitashi, while District Bank Cluster Head, Vijay Kumar; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer,  Dr. Satvir Raina; Chief Horticulture Officer,  V.K Gupta; DSHO,  Dr. Vikas Gupta; AD Fishery,  Bharat Bhushan; LDM Shakeel Ahmed; DDM,NABARD Arushi Sharma;  DAO Dr. Ashwani Sharma; SDAO R.C Pandoh; SMS Bharat Bushan and Ashwani Kumar  were the main speakers.The thrust area during the campaign would be promotion of the latest machinery, farming techniques, agricultural implements, processing and marketing of produce produced by the farmers under different departments.Speaking on the occasion, the CAO impressed upon the officers and field functionaries to make Pakhwada a grand success by covering all farmers including those engaged in Agriculture, Horticulture, Dairy, Fisheries, and Sheep rearing etc under Kisan Credit Scheme.Meanwhile, the speakers impressed upon the field functionaries and officers of agriculture and allied departments to intensify massive awareness campaign in their working areas regarding farmer welfare schemes like KCC, PM-Kisan, PM-Mandhan, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY), Minimum Support Price (MSP), promoting use of advanced seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, low cost production technologies, organic farming, and integrated farming   to achieve the target of doubling of farmers income by 2022.
