Governor, Bandaru Dattatraya offered floral tributes to Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the Father of the Constitution, on his 129th birth anniversary at Ambedkar Chowk, Chaura Maidan here today. In his message the Governor said that besides being the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Ambedkar worked seamlessly for ensuring social justice to the people and dedicated his life for the betterment of the poor, the exploited and the downtrodden. He emphasised upon spreading his message of brotherhood, his thoughts and principles particularly against social discrimination and the rights of women and labour. Later, the Governor also distributed food packets to the needy and to over 20 families of migrant labourers who are stranded after nationwide lockdown at temporary shelters near Raj Bhawan while maintaining social distancing in view of the threat of corona virus.
