In a meeting with few senior officers of the State Government at Raj Bhawan today, Governor Bandaru Dattatraya said that adequate arrangements should be made to ensure remunerative prices to the horticulturists of the state keeping in view the ensuring apple season. He said it should also be ensured that farmers do not face any difficulty in transportation of their produce to various markets.He said that if necessary, the government may consider increasing the procurement price under Market Intervention Scheme (MIS).Chief Secretary Anil Khachi apprised the Governor that farmers and fruit growers do not require curfew passes for transpirations of their produce as they have been exempted from all the existing exercise. He also apprised about various measures being taken related to control of coronavirus and about arrangements made by the state government to facilitate farming community and general public as well.The Agricultural Product Amendment Bill was also discussed in the meeting. The Governor advised expediting the process of the Bill as required.Additional Chief Secretary, Health R.D. Dhiman informed that health facilities in the state have been strengthened. The samples of all individuals with flu-like symptoms would also be collected. He said that isolation centre facility was adequate in the state and hotspot areas have been completely freezed and the supply of essential goods was being ensured. He added that the reports of all the cases for suspected COVID-19 taken on Sunday have come negative.Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements made by the state government, the Governor stressed the need to work on exit and economic revival policy.Secretary to the Governor Rakesh Kanwar was also present on the occasion.
