In a bid to promote shooting and archery sports, the management of Guru Has Gobind (GHG) Khalsa College, Gurusar Sudhar (district Ludhiana) has opened its doors for budding shooters as well as those want to take archery as a sport. He informed that anyone can avail full benefit of these sports facilities by paying a nominal fee, which has been fixed on no profit no loss basis.A function in this regard was organised in the college premises, in which Mr Prabhdeep Singh Nathowal, District Public Relations Officer was the Chief Guest, while Mr Puneet Pal Singh Gill, Assistant Public Relations Officer was the guest of honour. College magazine “Gurusar” was also released on the occasion.College Principal Prof Jaswant Singh Goraya informed that their college has an ultra modern state-of-the-art shooting range, that was inaugurated by Chief of the Naval staff Admiral Sunil Lanba, PVSM, AVSM, ADC on May 1, 2019. He said that this shooting range has been developed to ensure that this shooting range would act as a propeller for the youth of this region to pursue career in shooting.

He informed that if any outsider wants to use shooting range, the per month charges with college weapon are Rs 2500 and with own weapon are Rs 2,000. The charges for six months with college weapon are Rs 13,000 and with own weapon are Rs 10,000, whereas the yearly charges with college weapon are Rs 25,000 and with own weapon are Rs 20,000.Similar, the fee for archery coaching is Rs 1,000 for one month, Rs 5000 for six months and Rs 10,000 for one year. If any person wants to avail this facility, they would have to bring their own equipments for archery.Prof Jaswant Singh Goraya further stated that the main aim of starting this initiative is that they want to become partners with Mission Tandrust Punjab of the state government and to promote sports culture amongst our youth.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Mr Tejinder Singh, Head of Department (Physical Education), Dr Sohan Singh Saini, besides several others.
