The Transport Department in connection with the celebrations of the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji is constructing a splendid Bus Stand at Sultanpur  Lodhi which will be equipped with world class facilities for the commuters. The total cost of this project is Rs. 5.73 crore. It was disclosed by Mrs. Razia Sultana,  Transport Minister while overseeing the progress of the construction work here at Sultanpur Lodhi. The Transport Minister said that she is satisfied at the pace of the  construction work which was being done on war footing. She said that 80% of the work was complete. She said that the construction of the Bus Stand was started in the  month of February, 2019 and after its completion by September 30 it would be dedicated to the public. She said this bus stand will have 8 counters for the buses. Other  main attractions of the Bus Stand would be AC waiting hall for the passengers, separate toilets for the differently abled, women and men, one modern restaurant,  commercial shops, potable drinking water through RO system, water coolers, Steel Benches, Car Parking, Rickshaw Parking and unloading platform for luggage.Mrs.  Razia Sultana said that entrance gate of the bus stand had been specially designed to give it a heritage look. Similarly doom and arches had also been constructed atop  the bus stand to give it historical look.Prominent who were present at this occasion with the Minster included Mr. Gurloveleen Singh, MD, PRTC, Mr. Jatinder Pal Singh,  Executing Engineer, PRTC, Mr. Parveen Sharma, GM, PRTC, Kapurthala and other senior officers of the district administration.
