The mobile teams on boats which have been pressed into operation in the flood-hit villages of Jalandhar brought the six dead cattle, on the Sunday morning, informed an official spokesman of Government of Punjab.They were disposed in the supervision of experts from Animal Husbandry in village Nall, said he. Scientific disposal of dead cattle due to floods in various villages of the district has been started. The receding flood-water in the villages mandated the disposal owing to unbearable stench and fear of outbreak of an epidemic. The teams are moving to house to house to bring out the dead cattleIt is estimated that around 60 cattle head lost life to floods in Jalandhar. Once the water recedes further, the dead cattle will be brought out on tractor-trolleys.
