Presiding over a meeting of District Grievances Redressal Committee here today, Cabinet Minister of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Charanjit Singh Channi said that transparent, accountable and corruption free administration is on top priority of Punjab Government and different departments should take necessary steps to achieve this goal.Cabinet Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi has given clear instructions to the officers to make sure that the benefits of government schemes and programs should be reached to needy and eligible people. While talking about Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), he ordered to issue job cards to all those who seek these cards. He said that which Panchayats will pass the resolution, in those villages 5- 5 Marla plots will be provided to homeless people. Regarding grievances related to the power department, Minister ordered to insure uninterrupted supply of electricity. He said that after investigating the complaint which was received during the last meeting, one Junior Engineer of PSPCL has been suspended, while SDO has been transferred. 

On the complaint regarding Malout Civil Hospital, the Cabinet Minister has ordered the committee of ADC, SDM and Civil Surgeon to investigate and said that if any negligence is found during the investigation, strict action will be taken.Meanwhile, Mr. Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, MLA Gidderbaha said that the Punjab government is spending Rs 300 cr. to pay the electricity bill of waterworks. He also appealed to people to pay water bills on time. After raising the issue by Mr. Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Cabinet Minister issued instructions to the officials related to development agencies and public welfare schemes to visit villages every fortnight to resolve the problems of people.During press conference the Cabinet Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi said that the government has taken necessary steps to eradicate the drug abuse. Government is providing free treatment to drug addicts and strict action is being taken by police against drug-smugglres under drug free Punjab drive, he added.Deputy Commissioner Mr. M K Aravind Kumar, SSP. Mr. Manjit Singh Dhesi, Former MLA Karan Kaur Brar, District Congress Committee Chief Harcharan Singh Brar, Amanpreet Singh Bhatti were also present in this meeting.
