Dr Shenaz Ganai EX MLC was given a warm and rousing reception at Poonch as she arrived here first time after being nominated as member State Wakaf Council.While speaking on the occasion Dr Ganai thanked the people for such a warm welcome and for reposing their trust in her. She said that it is only because of the blessings of Almighty Allah and your support that has made it possible to get nominated as member of the State Wakaf Council of J&K. she said that wakaf properties are in shambles and under illegal occupation of various Government Departments.Expressing concern over the Wakaf assets being occupied in the state, Dr Shehnaz said that a large numbers of Wakaf properties falling in the state are still under the occupation of various State and Cetral Government Departments which is a serious issue and urged that steps will taken to  retrieve the said property from above Departments. There is dire need to safeguard the Wakaf property and streamline the working and affairs of the Wakaf keeping in view to properly protect the Wakaf property,” said Dr Ganai.Expressing concern over suspension of Cross LOC Trade Dr Ganai Urged Government of India reconsider the Decision as the same is going to badly effect the local traders and unemployed youth of the area who used to do Cross LOC Trade. She appealed the Governor Sh Satya Pal Malik to take up the matter with Home Ministry Government of India, so that Full Body scanners get installed and the illegal trade if any happening on the LOC gets stopped.Besides General public of the area, Sh Misbahi, Member State Wakaf Council and various religious heads of the area were present on the occasion.
