Mansa police recovers Rs 2.99 crores

Mansa police recovered an unaccounted amount of Rs 2.99 crore from a Sirsa resident during a police naka at Talwandi Road near Behniwal village. In a press statement issued by Mansa SSP Mandhir Singh, it was stated that the unaccounted money is recovered from the car which was driven by one Nirmal Singh, a resident of Sirsa. He was accompanied by his wife-Sukhchain Kaur- when it was intervened by a team of policemen on the road. He said that police have initiated action under section 102 of the CrPc in this regard and thorough investigation is being initiated by a team of policemen from Sadar police station, Mansa.He said that the couple failed to give any details about the money which was lying in two separate bags between the front and rear rows of the Toyota Etios car having registration number of Haryana. The SSP further said that the couple claimed that they were on their way towards Daliawalewli village of Mansa and the money belonged to a contractor.The SSP informed that the officials of the Income Tax have been intimated about the recovery of the money and further action would be taken in this regard as per the law.
