Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali today chaired a meeting to discuss various issues regarding operation of AN-32 Courier Service for Kargil during current winter season.Threadbare discussions were held on some important issues relating to smooth and successful execution of Courier services to Kargil.The Chairman appreciated the efforts made by all for smooth functioning of the services during the last year and hoped that concerted efforts will be made this year also to make it a grand success. He wished that all arrangements will be in place to facilitate the passengers. He assured the Airport authorities that the liaison officers will be deputed soon to co-ordinate with them.He also directed the representatives from the LAHDC, Kargil, Nisar H Munshi to depute the liaison officer well in time to co-ordinate with Airport Authority and Air India for facilitation of passengers. He also directed that the Bus services for passengers shall be taken up with Air India while Airport Authority shall ensure proper facilities for passengers.Executive Councilor (Works), LAHDC Kargil desired that proper care shall be taken for facilitation of passengers by way of arranging adequate sorties of IL aircraft. He also enquired about the operation of C-17 aircraft to which the representatives of Air force informed that it is not possible as the same is an aircraft of specialized nature for defense operations with limited availability.

The issue of cancellation of flights was also   discussed and it was unanimously resolved that to avoid any inconvenience to passengers a proper schedule will be designed and in case of cancellation an advance advisory will be issued.Gp Capt. A K Verma stressed that all concerned should ensure that an advisory is issued to the passengers to refrain from using mobile phones at strategically sensitive Air Stations at Jammu and Udhampur.The Chairman also called for proper   arrangements for female security staff to facilitate security check of the female passengers at Jammu, Srinagar and Udhampur. He also desired that proper sitting arrangements, Trolleys and wheel chairs should be arranged for old age and ailing passengers.As regards start of the services, it was unanimously decided that the decision will be taken soon after the snapping of road connectivity to Kargil.The Chairman appreciated all those present in the meeting for their efforts to ensure smooth functioning of Courier services to Kargil. Among other present were Special Secretary, Legislative Council, Ishfaq Ahmed Wani, SSP Airport Jammu, Mohammad Aslam, Additional Commissioner Jammu, Rahul Sharma, G/Capt Air Force Station, Satwari Jammu, Sanjay Bali, Additional AP, Udhampur, Tabassum Parveen, AM (ATC) AAI, Jammu, Hitesh Bijolya, Sr. Manager Operation, AAI Jammu, Mukesh Kumar and other senior officers of concerned department were also present on the occasion.
