In order to pay tributes to the martyrs and commemorate their sacrifices, Nation Police Day was observed today across the State. The State level function was held at Armed Police Complex, Zewan where contingents of different forces including J&K Police, ITBP, CRPF, BSF, SSB, IRP, JKAP and Ladies contingent on the beats of Pipe and Brass Bands participated in the parade. Hon’ble Governor J&K, Shri Satya Pal Malik was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Shri Omar Abdullah former chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Advisors to Hon’ble Governor, Shri K Vijay Kumar, Shri Khurshid Ganie, Shri B.B Vyas, Chief Secretary J&K Shri BVR Subrahmanyam and Principal Secretary Home J&K Shri R.K Goyal were present on the occasion.

Former Directors General of J&K Police Shri M M Khajuria, Shri M N Sabharwal, Shri Gopal Sharma, Shri Kuldeep Khoda, Shri P S Gill and retired ADGP Shri Madan Lal were also present to pay their homage to the martyrs.DGP in his welcome address recalled the sacrifices of the martyrs, who laid down their lives in the service of the nation. He said the nation is indebted to the martyrs, it is because of the sacrifices of martyrs that we are able to live in peaceful atmosphere.Dilbag Singh on the occasion thanked the Governor’s administration for announcement of various welfare measures for the NoKs of the police martyrs and personnel. DGP read out the names of martyrs of every force who sacrifice their lives. He assured the families of martyrs that at every step J&K Police is always with them. Later, Hon,ble Governor Shri Satya Pal Malik led the Advisors, civil and police officers in laying  wreaths  at the martyrs memorial. He also inspected the blood donation camp orgsanised by the Police where a number of Jawans and officers donated the blood. Families of the martyrs were also present on the occasion.In Jammu province, Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone, Dr S D Singh Jamwal along with other senior police officers paid floral tribute to the martyrs at Police Martyrs Memorial, Rail Head, Jammu. MLA Nagrota Shri Davinder Singh Rana was also present on the occasion. 

The Police Commemoration Day Parade was held at Gulshan Ground, Jammu. IGP Jammu, IGP Armed Jammu Shri Danish Rana, DIG JKS Range Shri B.S Tuti, and GOs of all Jammu based units were present, apart from a large number of senior / retired Police Officers and prominent Citizens of Jammu were also present.  District Kathua observed Police Commemoration Day in District Police Lines Kathua. Shri Shridhar Patil IPS, SP Kathua along with other Police and security officers, retired police officers, families of Police Martyrs paid tribute to Police Martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty to uphold sovereignty and Security of the State.On the occasion Shri Kuldeep Raj Hon'ble MLA Hiranagar, Shri Arun Gupta  Principal PTS Kathua,  retired Police officers, families of Police Martyrs, prominent citizens of Kathua  and territorial police officers were also present.In District Kishtwar, an elaborated function was organized in the District Police Lines Kishtwar. Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar  Rajinder Kumar Gupta took the salute of the Commemoration Day Parade.  Brigade Commander, 09 Sector, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Commandants and 2I Cs of Army and CAPF, respectable citizens, NoKs of the martyrs, along with the territorial officers of police, officers of civil administration and media attended the function.SPS Police Training School Kathua organised Police Commemoration Day parade in the institute to commemorate the sacrifices of Police personnel across the country. Shri Arun Gupta SSP Principal SPS PTS Kathua, GO’s/NGO’s and lower subordinate staff of training school paid floral tribute to the police martyrs at the Martyrs Memorial.  While speaking on the occasion Principal PTS Kathua paid rich tributes and lauded the role being played by J&K Police in fighting and tackling terrorism, law and order, Security and other duties.In District Rajouri, an elaborated function was organized at DPL Rajouri. Shri Ajaz Asad, DC Rajouri, DIG RP Range Deepak Kumar Salathia IPS and SSP Rajouri Shri Yougal Manhas paid a rich tribute to the martyrs who laid down their live in the line of duty. 

In district Reasi an elaborated function was organized in DPL Reasi. Shri Prasanna Ramaswamy G, IAS DC Reasi, Ms. Nisha Nathyal, SSP Reasi and other senior officers of the district paid rich tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty.In district Samba, an elaborated function was organized in DPL Samba in which floral tributes were paid by the SSP Samba and other senior officers of the district to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty.In South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, the function was held at DPL Anantnag where contingents of different forces including district Police Anantnag, Armed police, CRPF and IRP  etc participated in the parade. DC Anantnag Shri Mohd Younis  who was the chief guest on the occasion accompanied by Senior superintendent of police  Anantnag Shri Altaf Ahmad Khan took salute.On this occasion blood donation camp was organized in which SSP Anantnag, Shri Altaf Ahmad Khan, DySP HQRS Anantnag  Shri Burhan Kanth, CO 40BN CRPF and other senior officers and officials of police donated their blood.Sacrifices of the martyrs, who laid down their lives in the service of the nation, were remembered and wreaths were laid at the martyr’s memorial. Families of the martyrs were also present on the occasion and also gifts were distributed to the kins of the martyrs.

In Shopain, Police Commemoration parade was held in District Police Lines Shopian in which contingents of District Police, IRP/JKAP and CRPF participated. The parade was  attended by officers of Police and CRPF besides NoK’s of Police martyrs of the district. A glorious tribute was paid to the martyrs who laid their lives in the line of duty. On this occasion special gifts were distributed among the NoK’s of the Police martyrs of the district as a mark of oneness and empathy.In Pulwama, Police Commemoration Day parade was organized in DPL Pulwama. The sacrifices by Police martyrs throughout the country were remembered. A large number of paramilitary forces and police officers attended the parade. The civilian and Police martyrs families also attended the programme. At the conclusion, SP Pulwama interacted with the NoK’s of police martyrs and distributed cheque among them and assured all possible support and cooperation at his level and the whole J&K Police Department stands with them.

In Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District, the sacrifices of Policemen in the lines of duty were marked with solemnity at the Police Commemoration Day held at District Police Lines Ganderbal.SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmed Poswal,  paid a floral tribute to all Martyrs of Police Department and a silent prayer for Martyrs. On this occasion DC Ganderbal Dr. Piyush Singla-IAS along with ADC Ganderbal Shri. Nasir Ahmad, CO 118 BN CRPF Shri. A.K Dhyani, ASP GANDERBAL and other Police officers/Officials as well as families of Police Martyrs were present on the Police Commemoration Day. SSP Ganderbal distributed ce gifts among 41 kin's of Police Martyrs as gesture of respect.In North Kashmir’s District Bandipora, Police Commemoration parade was held in District Police Line Bandipora in which contingents of District Police, IRP/JKAP and CRPF participated. The parade was also attended by DDC Bandipora and officers of Police and CRPF besides NoK’s of police martyrs of the district. A glorious tribute was paid to the martyrs who laid their lives in the line of duty. On this occasion Sewing Machines were distributed among the NoK’s of the police martyrs of the district as a mark of oneness and empathy.In Sopore, Police commemoration day was observed in District Police Lines Sopore, to remember the brave policemen and other security forces personnel who sacrificed their lives while discharging duties. Rich tributes were paid to the martyrs. On this occasion SSP Sopore Shri. Javaid Iqbal, SDPO Sopore Shri. Mashkoor Ahmad Zargar and other officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police, IRP, CRPF and Army Commandants besides NoKs of Police martyrs of the district and prominent citizens of Sopore were present . 

Police District Handwara observed Police Commemoration Day at  District Police Lines Handwara, Shri Ashish Mishra, IPS  SP Handwara read over the names of all  Police personnel/Security  who scarified their lives in the line of duty across the country. Rich tribute was paid to police personnel who scarified their precious lives in the line of duty across the country. An impressive commemoration parade was held as a mark of respect to the martyred security officials.District Kupwara, observed Police Commemoration parade was held in District Police Lines  Kupwara  in which contingents of District Police, IRP/JKAP and CRPF participated. The parade was attended by SSP Kupwara  and other Senior officers of Police and CRPF besides NoK’s of Police martyrs of the district. A glorious tribute was paid to the martyrs who laid their lives in the line of duty. On this occasion gifts were distributed from SSP Kupwara among the NoK’s of the police martyrs of the district. Police Commemoration Day was celebrated at DPL Doda in the memory of martyrs who have sacrificed their  lives for the peace and tranquility of nation. A rich tribute was offered for the eternal peace of the martyrs by DC Doda, SSP Doda and other dignitaries.District Kargil observed Police Commemoration Day in tribute to valor and intrepidity of the martyrs of Police and other CAPFs who made supreme sacrifices in the line of duty. DC Kargil, SSP Kargil and other dignitaries paid floral tributes to the martyrs.District Police Bandipora observed Police Commemoration Parade to salute the brave hearts who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. A glorious tribute was paid to the martyrs by the SSP Bandipora and other senior officers.In order to pay the rich tribute to the martyrs Police Commemoration Parade was observed in District Budgam. A rich tribute was offered for the eternal peace of the martyrs by SSP Budgam and other officers of the district.
