Greenwood High hosted “WISSEN 2018” - City’s most esteemed quiz competition for schools

The core theme of the competition revolved around combating single-use plastic pollution

Greenwood High International School hosted the 5th edition of the inter school quiz competition – WISSEN 2018 at its Bannerghatta Road campus recently. The response from students of prominent schools in Bangalore and across India was overwhelming.The WISSEN 2018 was won by Hussain Ahmed and Syed Abdul Mannan from Little Flower High School – Hyderabad. The 1st and 2nd runners up were Daksh Shettar and Ananya Patil Rao from Presidency School RT Nagar and Ananya S Shastry and Pranav Kumar from Innisfree House School respectively. Little Flower High School - Hyderabad was also declared as the Best Outstation Team. The top 3 teams were rewarded cash prizes of Rs 1,00,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively and the Best Outstation team received a cash prize of Rs.7,000.

Over 650 students from 80 schools participated in the competition. The quiz was curated and conducted by quizmaster Vinay Mudaliar.The quiz was open for students from grade 7 to 10 and revolved around current affairs, history, sports, entertainment, India etc and a special round on the environment in keeping with the core theme of the World Environment Day 2018 – To combat single-use plastic pollution. WISSEN aims to create awareness among the student community across the nation about the dangers of plastic. “Greenwood High is consistently dedicated to the cause of inculcating values of sustainability among younger generations. The crux of the theme of WISSEN is to engage them in proactive practices of environmental conservation.” said Ms. Niru Agarwal, Trustee, Greenwood High International School.
