The Punjab government has not only tightened its noose around the drug peddlers, but is also working aggressively towards providing proper treatment  to those on path of sobriety. Under Tandarust Punjab Mission government has set up Out Patient Opioid Assisted Treatment (OOAT) Clinics in  government hospitals wherein patients come to take medicine for de-addiction daily.These OOAT Clinics have started showing positive results with as many as 234 patients having enrolled themselves at the OOAT Clinic in  Talwandi Sabo in past one week. SDM Talwandi Sabo Mr Varinder Singh today conducted checking of the OOAT clinic where 30 to 35 patients were  undergoing treatment. SDM said that the people are being given treatment free of cost. Being out patient door based module, it does not need a patient  to be admitted to the facility. He appealed the people as well as DAPO (Drug Abuse Prevention Officers) to bring addicts to this place for free treatment  and help them adjust back into the society.Meanwhile, the Kotfatta police held a seminar in drug abuse at village Maiserkhana wherein villagers were encouraged to  say no to drugs  and instead inform police about the peddlers.Villagers were also told about the free treatment available for drug addicts at government health centers.  

The police staff and villagers also planted 300 saplings in the village. Also plantation was done at village Dyalpura Mirja (Bhagta).Also the cleaning of drains in nagar panchayat Maluka and nagar panchayat Mehraj was done. At Nathana the executive officer and team of  nagar panchayat Nathana did cleaning of streets. Cleaning of the filters at the water works at industrial growth center of capacity 1.5 Million Gallons per  day plant has been completed. Agriculture department held a farmer training camp at village Pakka Kalan Block Sangat giving information on paddy and cotton crop and need based  technical advisory for both crops was given to the farmers . The water supply and sanitation department division No. 2 held awareness camp on water  management village Mansa Khurd in block Rampura. The officials of industry department visited PP Industries and Aggarwal Steel Industries and  Industrial Focal Point New Dabwali Road Bathinda and educated them about need for cleanliness and increasing greenery cover around the industry.  The youth services department held one day camp at Khalsa Senior Secondary School with the youth club and NSS unit of school.
