Senior National Conference leader and MLA Kangan Mian Altaf Ahmed has urged the Governor administration to provide suitable compensation and proper rehabilitation to the nomad families whose land is coming under the establishment of All India institute of medical science (AIIMS) at Samba in Jammu. In a statement issued to PTK)  Mian Altaf said that over 200 nomad families living in the area where AIIMS is to come up have been asked to vacate the land to pave the way for establishment of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Vijaypur in Samba district. “if there was so much land available to the government at the area, the government should have taken it under consideration and have selected some adjacent area so that the residential areas are not affected” the statement said.“Nobody is against the establishment of the AIIMS but it should not be at the cost of poor people who have no means to settle anywhere else or to live” Mian Altaf added.Mian Altaf asked the Governor administration to provide a suitable compensation to the affected families and make a proper rehabilitation plan for them.
