BJP MP Shanta Kumar have told the PWD to mark the black spots on all roads in the district and improve the road quality there to minimise the road accidents. Shanta was pressing the meeting of District Road Safety Board in Dharamshala on Tuesday. Ex Himachal CM shanta Kumar said, “ Accident prone roads of the district must be repaired and improved immediately, and if improvement is  not possible, such roads must be closed for traffic to avoid accidents.” He advised the officials of the PWD department  not to compromise on the quality of the roads at any cost.Shanta said as the population is increasing so is the number of the vehicles on the roads, but the quality of driving is deteriorating accordingly. He asked the Police to act strongly against those who don’t follow the rules of road and driving. He said that police must take support of the modern technology to control the increasing traffic on the roads.He told the administration to act strongly against those who breaks the traffic laws.

He said, “the administration must ensure that the speed governess and CCTV camera facility strictly be followed in school buses. CCTV should also be fitted on all cross roads in the district and where ever nessassory the speed breakers be fixed on all roads.”He said the licences of over speeding or drunken drivers be cancelled.The members of the Board suggested that road safety laws be included in school syllabus and there should be eye sight check up units for drivers by road sides.Regional Transport authority Dr Vishal Sharma said that ultra modern driving schools be opened in different areas of the district and central government will finance them. “ the people intrusted in it must contact RTA Dharamshala,” he said.Beside others the meeting was attended byArun Mehra  MLA Nagrota ,Arjun singh MLA Jwali,  Sandeep Kadam Commissioner M C Dharamshala, Santosh Patial SP.
