The State Government is working with sole motto of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’ to ensure effective, transparent and responsive administration to the people of the State. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while speaking on the occasion of a function held by Sankalp Jan Vikas Shiksha Samiti Trust, Chandigarh, here today.The Chief Minister said that it is difficult to become an IAS and other services which required hardwork and dedication and support of the family members and teachers. He said that one should be humble and submissive towards the people and ready to learn throughout his life. He said that we should work with dedication and commitment for the welfare of society. He said that Sankalp was rendering great services for upkeeping the culture and traditions. Jai Ram Thakur said that to prepare the students to compete in All India level competitions, the State Government has decided to start Medha Protsahan Yojna under which stipend/coaching assistance would be provided to Himachali students within and outside the State. He said a provision of Rs. 5 crore has been made for this during the current financial year.He said that State Goverment would provide all possible help to Sankalp for starting their centre at Shimla.

He said that the State government was giving top priority for education sector and a provision of Rs. 7044 crore has been made to for this sector during the current financial year.He lauded the efforts of Sankalp Jan Vikas Shiksha Samiti Trust, Chandigarh for organizing this felicitation programme to honour three Himachali students qualifying the IAS Examination. He also congratulated the successful candidates and wished for their successful career and bright future.The Chief Minister honoured Mahant Suryanath Ji Maharaj with Rishi Samman, Dr PC Negi with Guru Samman, Er Sunil grover and Prof (Dr.) Brij Sharma.He also honoured Ayush Sinha, for 7th All India ranking, Abhishek Verma Rank for getting 32nd rank besides Chru Sharma, Nishant Sharma, Shikha Sharma, Priyanka Tyagi on the occasion. All these candidates qualified UPSC examinations under the guideance of Sankalp.Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj and Town and Country Planning Minister Sarveen Chaudhary also spoke on the occasion.Dr. Santosh Kumar Taneja said that 621 candidates qualifing the UPSC this year were associated with Sankalp. Vibhag Sangh Chalak, RSS Raj Kumar Verma welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitories on the occasion.Charanjeet Rai, President, Sankalp Jan Vikas Shiksha Samiti Trust detailed various activities of the organization on the occaison.Wife of Chief Minister Dr. Sadhna Thakur, Mayor Kusum Sadret, Chief Secretary Vineet Chawdhry,  Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Shrikant Baldi, noted social worker Prof. Veer Singh Rangra, Raj Kumar Bhatia were also present on the occasion among others.
