A meeting of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation of Legislative Council was held under the Chairmanship of MLC Ashok Khajuria here today.Legislators, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, Dr Shehnaz Ganai and Vikram Randhawa attended the meeting and gave their suggestions to further improve the functioning of the Committee.Threadbare discussions were held on reply submitted by the Public Service Commission (PSC) as query raised by the Committee regarding selections and promotions made by the Commission besides present status of lists of pending cases in Supreme Court and J&K High Court.While examining the papers submitted by the PSC, it was given out that five cases were pending in the Supreme Court and 740 cases in Jammu and Kashmir High Court, besides of total 534 selection matters around 92 have been disposed-off.The Committee issued directions for Secretary Public Service Commission to brief the Committee about the status of pending court cases in its next meeting so that the Committee would take appropriate action in this regard.Among others, Deputy Secretary, Council, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat and other senior officers and officials of Council Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
